Digital Signal Processing
Linearizer Technology, Inc. has developed a digital signal processing system for signal synthesis and distortion correction to be used with HF/VHF/UHF/microwave amplifiers. This technology works with SSPAs, TWTAs, and KPAs. Either digital information to be modulated or baseband modulated (I/Q) signals are processed by this system. Our system consists of a digital signal synthesizer/predistortion linearizes and up-converter (DSS/PDL/UPC) which generates two independent (I/Q) data streams that are fed to two digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The DAC outputs are filtered and upconverted to the frequency of interest by means of a quadrature-balanced modulator. Correction bandwidths of up to 500 MHz with a distortion reduction of 35 dB or more can be achieved. Both open and adaptive closed loop options are available.
